Born from a lifetime on two wheels.

Beyond the techy buzzwords of mountain biking, there’s a whole undercurrent of passion and self expression that draws people to their bikes. Building on Cam’s long-standing legacy and decades of experience, we created a bold and grounded brand that taps into that culture.

Building a brand based on Cam’s legacy

To solidify ZInk’s place in the industry and get a feel for our audience, we established brand mission and vision statements, conducted a  core demographics audit, etc.

A wide exploration from punk to tech to surf

Inspired by texture, motion, and play, we took a broad swing with this logo exploration. We started with the gritty edge of punk, jumped into clean, modern tech, and then dove into the chill, coastal feel of surf culture. It was all about seeing how far we could stretch the look and feel while still keeping things grounded in the brand.

Born from a lifetime on two wheels.

We created a logo that speaks to where riders play: all mountain, big mountain, bike park, and backyard. Dynamic line work paired with stagnant shapes symbolize Zink cutting through industry noise. We opted for bright colors paired with calmer ones in our palette to capture the brand experience; Energizing and unapologetic, yet dependable and inviting.

Results

Zink Bikes launched in 2024 with a clear, confident brand system that has allowed the team to roll out a unified identity across every touchpoint. Our brand guidlines have impacted everything from press releases to website and frame graphics to apparel, packaging, and social channels. The bold, handcrafted design language quickly evolved into a voice, with copywriting, illustration, and photography all capturing the brand’s freeride spirit.

Early reception within the mountain bike community has been overwhelmingly positive, with press coverage highlighting both the distinct brand attitude and the debut Vacay frame’s innovative design. Built around Cam Zink’s own story and his years long pursuit of the perfect freeride bike, the brand feels as authentic to Cam as it does intentional for the market.

Behind the scenes, a streamlined organized design system have reduced internal production hours and made it easier for the team to focus on product and storytelling. The guidelines, brand vision & mission, audience research, and visual library we developed has provided Zink Bikes with a strong foundation for launch, fundraising, and continued evolution of the brand.

We look forward to seeing future frame drops, and rider/artist collaborations.
